Job SummaryThe Aerospace Corporation Space Systems Group serves as the technical and programmatic advisor to the United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) for acquiring, developing, and fielding capabilities for the United States Space Command and joint warfighter as well as to maintain America's comprehensive military advantage in space. As the Sr. Project Leader for Space Based Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (ISR) you will play a pivotal role in SSC's growing mission area of Space Based Tactical ISR and Persistent Surveillance. You will have an opportunity to guide USSF development and transition of prototype/demonstration capabilities to operational systems and forge new acquisition paths at SSC. This job entails providing both technical and programmatic support to efforts that include multiple collaborators and mission partners that may include Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), DARPA, the Intelligence Community (IC) and other military branches and government agencies. Work Model: This position will be a hybrid work model with majority of the work week required to be in office and in SCIF areas. What You'll Be Doing- Delivery of technical expertise to the Space Based Sensing Division Customer, SSC/SNSR, the Persistent/Tactical Surveillance Directorate/Delta
- Interact regularly with Government customer leaders, SETA contractors, multiple development contractors, and other collaborators across SSC and government agencies
- Build and lead Aerospace domain experts to address technical and programmatic studies, issues, efforts in support of the government customer
- Conduct technical review of design artifacts, architecture, and support integration of capabilities at an enterprise level
- Support government customer in developing strategy to address future architecture and capabilities
- Work with Science & Technology (S&T) and Independent Research and Development (IRAD) partners for opportunities within the mission areas (I.E. TENCAP, AFRL, Aerospace Internal R&D)
- Serve as technical lead for the Tactical ISR program office
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, software/IT or an appropriate technical subject area
- Minimum 15 years of related engineering/scientific experience with > 8 years of experience in acquisition planning, analysis, development of national security space systems
- Track record of working successfully with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and field prototype/demonstration ground/space systems
- Ability to work/manage Aerospace Corporation's program office and Engineering Technology Group (ETG) relationships
- Some Experience working with ISR programs/mission areas with other agencies/military branches
- Willing to travel approximately 30% of the time
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, which is issued by the US Government. US Citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with ambiguous expectations
- Technical expertise in Moving Target Indicator (MTI) algorithms
- Experience with Radar, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Active/Passive Radio Frequency (RF) detection, Electro-Optical, and Infrared (IR) detection/sensors/phenomenology
- > 3 years' experience in ISR mission area
- Leadership with small teams/programs in different government acquisition phases
- Experience with Government to Commercial and/or International partnership relationships
