Aerospace is seeking a strategic, innovative, and proactive leader for the Digital Engineering Transformation Office within the Space Systems Architect Division. The Digital Engineering Transformation Office Systems Director is responsible for leading and managing Aerospace efforts in support of the customer's Digital Engineering/Transformation branch in Enterprise Interoperability within the Space Systems Integration Office. The work program includes defining and implementing systems engineering and Digital Engineering processes, working with Space System Integration Office (SSIO) architects to develop architectures and models of the architectures to engineer and evaluate an integrated space systems enterprise for SSC and DoD. This position requires strong collaboration across SSC and with other acquisition, force design and requirements development agencies. The selected candidate will be expected to provide proactive support to the customer and cultivate productive working relationships in a fast-paced multi-organizational and multi-contractor environment.

Occasional Telecommuting is possible depending on the needs of the customer.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading and managing Aerospace support to the customer's Digital Engineering and Transformation branch and the Deputy SSC Chief Engineer for SSIO
  • Building and sustaining a diverse and highly capable workforce through hiring, staff performance reviews, career development, and mentoring
  • Setting organizational and guiding individual goals and direction, monitoring progress, and providing feedback for staff development
  • Recommending budgets, allocating resources, establishing priorities, and ensuring execution to plans and commitments
  • Providing technical leadership within teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnel to further organizational objectives,
  • Reporting on the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports
  • Moderate level of travel may be required

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical discipline
  • Strong customer communication skills required to effectively engage customers and build a beneficial relationship
  • Ability to develop and implement digital engineering processes
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with agility and collaboration
  • Track record of making successful time-critical mission architecture decisions with ambiguous or incomplete data
  • Active top-secret/SCI clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
