This work is being conducted in the space domain that communicate with satellites (the vehicle). Some language you should see in this domain include trajectory, orbits, payloads, propulsion, etc. The space team develops satellite payloads related to RF, EO/IR, Optics, and Communication Satellite Communications Systems (things on vehicle for the mission). These also exist in aircraft and other similar domains.

Required Skills:

Requirement development, engineering artifacts, systems interfaces, coordination, implementation and execution Critical knowledge areas: RF, Command and Control, Mission Management Experience in space systems engineering Experience in one of the following subsystems: Structures, Mechanisms, Thermal or Propulsion. Must have at least basic familiarity with all subsystems and the desire to become well-versed in all. Technical expertise in space-based hardware of one of the following subsystems: Structures, Mechanisms, Thermal or Propulsion. This could include motors, honeycomb sandwich panels, valves, thrusters, heaters, heat pipes, MLI blankets, etc. Proven ability to supervise a supplier with independent Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Software, Controls and IV&V teams Experience in the testing and validation of satellite SMTP systems and hardware
