Conill has an excitingopportunity for a motivated Talent Manager. This position is temporarily working remotely due to pandemic. Will require to work from the office upon our return. El Segundo, CA location

Position Summary

Talent Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing professional HR guidance/counsel through effective training, benefits administration, recruitment and various project based work. Will assist with resolving employee relations issues, and policy development & implementation. This position provides employees an alternative channel to express their concerns. Will assist with recruitment functions including selection and evaluation of potential employees. Providing recommendations and council to hiring managers for all staff levels. Ensure compliance with all state and federal labor and employment law regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership team members with an awareness of specific people issues and broader trends.
  • Provides managers and employees with fair advice/counsel regarding complaints/legal issues.
  • Facilitates development of good working relationships with all employees in the agency.
  • Builds rapport and credibility to comfortably engage in frequent contact and build a solid relationship with all Conill employees and partner agencies.
  • Work with corporate legal counsel to proactively manage risk associated with performance management and termination.
  • Manage all immigration cases and ensure that all work authorizations are current.
  • Oversee all recruitment/hiring for positions agency-wide, using internal and external resources.
  • Partner with the Finance department to ensure that hiring and headcount remain within appropriate levels in maximizing fee.
  • Provide guidance and direction related to all freelance onboarding/off boarding.
  • Ensure that staffing follows all agency and network financial protocols.
  • Oversee and approve the preparation of semi-monthly freelance and overtime payroll.
  • Personally address senior and mid-level performance issues; provide guidance and oversight on lower-level performance management agency-wide.
  • Schedule and oversee annual performance review process.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the HR Coordinator
  • Negotiate contracts with Talent service providers (LinkedIn, recruiters) on behalf of the West Coast.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Helps with the administration of Leave of Absence.
  • Manages the Summer Intern Program.
  • Works collaboratively with Chief Talent Officer on broader initiatives impacting the network region; share best practices and opportunities for partnership.
  • Improves efficiency and service delivery through recognition and recommendation of changes in policies and/or procedures.
  • Handles inquiries regarding insurance, vacation, payroll, policies, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong presentation, communication (oral and written and negotiation), and interpersonal skills. Communicates clearly, openly, honestly and with integrity. Can effectively and with confidence present information in one-on-one and group situations to colleagues.
  • Must have ability to interface with all levels of employees including management.
  • Must be proactive, have initiative, and be a self-starter.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to prioritize workload and multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to adapt to a changing environment and to approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient using MS Word, Excel, & PPT.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high level confidential data.
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills and be politically savvy.

  • Is a team player and encourages collaboration. Brings energy to all areas of work.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-6 years of HR related experience or at least 3 years of HR generalist experience with heavy emphasis on recruiting, HR administration, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws.
  • Experience in fast-paced Advertising or Creative environment highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits knowledge, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have solid understanding of HR/Recruitment processes & HR-related regulations.
  • Must have familiarity with HRIS, and ATS.
