If you want to bring your legal expertise to the aerospace industry, our team could be a great fit for you.Role OverviewThis position leads team of intermediate to experienced professionals in Contracts, advising the team on issues concerning contract matters. Oversees the preparation of bids, process specifications, and progress reports. Trains employees and advises leadership of contractual rights and obligations to protect business interests. Responsible for and implements improvements to department processes to ensure effectiveness of the Contracts team.This individual can work in either Fairfield, CA or Colorado Springs, CO.Primary Responsibilities: Leads a team of professionals in preparing bids, processes specifications, progress reports, and other reports. Assists in implementing service excellence strategies to improve the relationship between legal department and other departments. Assists leadership in training employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract law related to the business. Assists in litigation and advises management of contractual rights and obligations to protect the organization’s legal and business interests. Assists in compiling and analyzing data, and in maintaining historical information to ensure ease of accessibility and retrieval of data and documents. Supports proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Advises and represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters. Creates proposals, negotiates and executes contracts. Provides legal advice on warranty and contract administration. Prepares legal documentation for legal and contract negotiations and relationships. Prepares legal applications for warranty and new contracts, as needed. Maintains historical legal records.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
