KB Home is the first national builder to have earned awards under all of the U.S. EPA's homebuilder programs - ENERGY STAR®, WaterSense® and Indoor airPLUS®.JOB SUMMARY: Prepare financial and operational forecasting, reporting and analyses, managing land development budgeting, contracting and cost accounting and various accounting-related and administrative responsibilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Preparing Financial and Operational Forecasts, Reports and Analyses
3-Year, Annual and Quarterly Business Plans/Forecasts/Flashes
Internal weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting packages and variance analyses
Land Development Budgeting and Cost Accounting
Manage land development contract documentation
Process land development draw/payment requests
Maintain land development budgets
Accounting and Administrative Functions
Maintaining summary-level house gross margin projections, by floorplan
Processing/coding certain SG&A costs
Review coding prepared by other department managers
Processing miscellaneous cash receipts
Sarbanes Oxley compliance and information requests from corporate and centralized accounting
Month/Quarter-end SOX compliance checklist
Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education/Certifications/Licenses
BS in Accounting required
Experience
2-5 years experience in Finance/Accounting role
Prior experience in single-family-for-sale homebuilding preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven financial and accounting analysis skills
Strong organizational capability, including ability to multi-task
Extensive familiarity with ERP software systems, JD Edwards preferred
Microsoft Office expertise
Proficient with Excel
Understanding of database software, e.g., Microsoft Access, a plus
Detail oriented, emphasizing accuracy, with easy-to-understand presentations
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Excellent interpersonal communication aptitude, with demonstrated ability to work well within a team setting
Customer service orientation, internal and external
Work Requirements
Must work 8-hour days (during core business hours) on site, with flexibility for longer hours as needed
Extensive overtime may be required during preparation of annual business plan and quarterly forecasts
Moderate overtime may be required as needed to comply with corporate information requests
Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with co-workers, external business associates and subcontractors.
