- Utilizes scientific and/or engineering skills to generate new characterization technologies and designs for products, creating new looks based on consumer feedback and needs, while maintaining performance standards.
- Participate and/or lead consumer and customer facing market studies to determine winning looks for selected markets
- Use Design of Experiment (DoE) to evaluate and scale-up winning design concepts
- Lead external investigations to determine characterization tools necessary for new concepts and ensure their scalability for manufacturing environments
- Optimize, modify or create the operational paths for existing equipment for compatibility with new product designs
- Participate and/or lead the prototyping processes to enable fast and frequent feedback from the market and from consumers
- Participate in pilot and factory trials for new products
- Participate in global cross functional teamwork to deliver project goals
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in product design
- Experience in object-oriented programming, preferably utilizing C# and Python
- Proven project management skills
- In depth knowledge of Photoshop or similar a plus
- Resourcefulness and ability to work effectively in an ever-changing environment that requires one to adapt to unexpected, urgent situations outside one's knowledge base and to problem-solve quickly under pressure
