Overview Visa Direct is a payment service Visa provides to clients (sending and receiving financial institutions, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payouts to shared economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursement), and more. Responsibilities The Global Lead Sales Engineer (Director Level) will lead strategic engagements with key partners that are critical to the success of Visa Direct’s cross border solutions. Engagement begins with an early -stage consultation to understand the partner’s needs, resources and targeted timeframe. Conversations will continue as we co-design a solution with the partner, agreeing on scope, and timelines. Management of multiple stakeholders and teams within Visa will be required to develop, implement, and launch the agreed upon solution. The candidate will have end-to-end engagement responsibility for the Visa Direct solution designed. The ideal candidate will be a structured, experienced money-movement leader, a people manager, an analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in how products are developed and delivered. S/he will possess a unique combination of product expertise, problem solving ability, flexibility with rapid changes, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail. Day to day responsibilities include the following: Familiarity with digital payment technologies, the payment ecosystem and the various players involved in the value chain Develop subject matter expertise on the Visa Direct product suite, including platform expertise, market readiness, product features, pricing economics, and global nuances. People leader of assigned team members including education, training, and support Identify opportunities with partners and co-design solutions to unlock these opportunities Clearly articulate business requirements and partner with the product platform teams to introduce new product features and enhancements Collaborate with cross-functional business, product, technology, client services and other teams to deliver best in class client solutions and product offerings Facilitate communication while managing partner relationships, leading cross functional teams and corresponding with senior management. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients that are market moving, cross border payments innovators and on projects that have high visibility and impact. S/he should be motivated by managing high profile, complex projects relatively independently. Given the strategic nature of the cross border partners involved and the end-to-end responsibility of the role, the candidate is very well positioned for recognition and growth. Flex Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs. Basic Qualifications 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD At least 5 years of experience in the financial services domain Expert in payments, banking or funds/money movement, having performed product management, sales engineer or solutioning in the past Experienced people manager with resources working remote and across regions Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills (including the ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way) Critical thinker adept at problem-solving with a strong focus on outcomes Leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results Disciplined project management and organization skills to keep large cross-functional teams delivering towards a common goal Aptitude to work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations and solutions Ability to work under pressure of tight timelines and frequent changes An advanced degree is an asset, but it is not essential Preferred Qualifications 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD While we list Foster City, CA as the primary location, this position may be done from another Visa location in the U.S. for the ideal candidate.
