Job Description

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Sample Coordinator to support our Professional Scientific Services group in Foster City, CA.

Sample Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

:

  • Manage all bulk drug substance, drug product, intermediates, stability and raw material samples processed by the Quality Control Laboratories
  • Sample Handling:
    • Receives, aliquots aseptically, labels, distributes and inventories samples taken by manufacturing staff and samples delivered by Logistics.
    • Ships samples to contract test labs, clients and other sites.
    • Ensures sample handling timelines are met.
    • Maintaining sample inventory of temperature-controlled units, reviewing equipment logbooks and ensuring that samples are stored at appropriate temperatures per sample plan SOPs.
    • Ensures sample integrity is intact, paperwork is completed and correct.
  • Documentation:
    • Generates, reviews and/or maintains records or documents in a detailed and consistent manner.
    • Prepares sample reconciliation reports and other reports as needed.
    • Performs logbook and/or LIMS entries when using equipment/instruments.
    • Uses LIMS to process samples.
    • Perform weekly and monthly reviews of sample management forms and logbooks.
    • Revises standard operating procedures, training manuals, etc which are submitted to management for review and final approval.
  • Process improvement and compliance:
    • Coordinates and manages continuous improvement projects
    • Maintains specific QC files and database records for process and/or quality improvement efforts.
    • Manages and maintains deviation and change control records.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly productive, attention to detail, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks with input from manager to meet timelines.
  • Dispose expired chemicals timely, report any equipment malfunction, and report any equipment calibration past due.
  • Interface with other functional groups within and outside QC to request/share information, provide results and coordinate testing.

The ideal candidate would possess

:

  • Experience in a cGMP environment managing samples, ensuring chain of custody, accuracy, and compliance
  • Knowledge of stability and raw material programs, experience with LIMS systems and sample management.
  • Experience conducting investigations, CAPAs, and completing regulatory documentation.
  • Knowledge of computer system validation, GMP and FDA, SUP and European regulations relating to material/product samples and testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), a strong customer focus, attention to detail, and an ability to interact with various departments and levels.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, andapositive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, life sciences, or other related degree concentration
  • 0-2 years related laboratory experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
