10616 - Sr. Business Process Consultant – Telematics Product Management

PURPOSE:The Business Process Consultant is a self-motivated individual who is responsible for strategically driving and managing telematics connectivity product feature development to meet business unit expectations, planning the product roadmap with a long-term strategy in mind, handling stakeholder communications for product management, and identifying new product enhancement opportunities. As a single point of contact, assist business divisions, HMG associate companies, and partners with telematics product management inquiries and requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead and support the growth of connected car telematics platforms in collaboration with business units, HMG associate companies, and other partners as a key product management consultant
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify, and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Translate business strategy into product strategy. Develops and owns connected car strategic product planning and product enhancement roadmaps
  • Execute the product strategy by transforming the product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
  • Acts as an interface with engineering to develop the next generation of solutions, product enhancements and services
  • Drive product launches including working with business units, external partners, and other product management team members
  • Manage all aspects of in-life products, including customer feedback, requirements, and issues
  • Functions as a key advocate and single point of contact for connectivity service-related product inquiries and requests from HMG affiliate companies, client business units and external partners
  • Lead and manage all aspects of connectivity service-related product planning, development, and operations
  • Develop, maintain, and demonstrate expert, up-to-date knowledge of connected car technologies
  • Stay current with industry and technical trends/developments affecting areas of responsibilities
  • Conducts analysis of systems specifications and uses the latest analysis/diagramming tools to represent business use cases.
  • Coordinate with all internal departments for new product development proposal creation

  • Create/manage product pricing model align with company's strategic direction
  • Coordinate with all internal departments for product proposal creation
  • Staying abreast of service implementation status, keep clients stay up to date with their connectivity service status
  • Providing management with analyses and reports and responding to questions and requests from management
  • Determining the right features for a product to ensure its effectiveness within the market

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in the field of business, computers, information systems or related degree
  • 7-10 years of IT exp. or industry work experience in consulting, strategic product planning, business process design and IT governance and/or relevant project experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role preferably in the Telematics, Telecommunications, or automobile industry
  • Proven work experience in product management, ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision (i.e., the ability to take high-level direction and proactively move a project or internal initiative from start to finish with minimal assistance)
  • Efficient with multitasking between multiple projects
  • High attention to detail with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization and a strong passion for helping customers plan and build on our technology
  • Client-first mentality; ability to empathize and build positive client relationships
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Ability to translate CBU business objectives and requirements into documents with functional design guidance
  • Ability to interpret difficult instructions, derive valid conclusions, and recommend reasonable courses of actions within the scope of the position
  • Ability to travel to international sites (e.g. Korea, Toronto, Canada)
  • Well organized with ability to pay close attention to details
  • Utilize best practices for general business, administrative, and operational procedures
