This role focuses on guiding Facebook's global engineering and operations expertise to solve complex technical problems from definition through design, ultimately arriving at executable engineering document packages specific to the data center building. This person will be a motived self-starter taking charge of various initiatives, a forward thinker with a keen business sense.

  • Manage cross-functional program design projects covering a range of technical domains (electrical/mechanical/structural engineering, architectural design, data center construction, network systems, hardware systems, capacity management, etc.) from concept through to completion.
  • Drive solutions to complex problems: develop clear problem statements, project requirements, milestone schedules, and documentation to support decision-making and facilitate implementation and construction.
  • Interface with Architecture, Electrical/Mechanical/Structural Engineering, Facilities, Construction, Network, Cabling, Security and other business owners to define projects and assess impacts across the organization and the lifecycle of the data center.
  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design development, and testing phases.
  • Understand/interpret technical drawings, facilitate inputs from engineers and technical staff across multiple highly technical engineering departments to create coordinated, executable designs.
  • Manage dependencies and handoffs effectively and optimize schedules accordingly.
  • Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Drive continual improvement of productivity.
  • Identify areas of risk, quantify those risks, and develop mitigations with subject matter experts within the organization.
  • Report and drive alignment and decisions from leadership across multiple organizations
  • effectively communicate complex technical content to stakeholders and partners with diverse/varied technical backgrounds.
  • Travel to datacenter sites as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent job experience.
  • Large scale critical infrastructure, Research and Development, and/or data center experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management/Project Management.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational experience.
  • Understanding of Architectural and Engineering systems and the impacts of change across multiple disciplines.
  • Proven track record driving positive results on complex problems with many stakeholders.

  • Experience managing projects related to data center design, hardware design, and capacity management.
  • Knowledge of design, construction, network systems, hardware, and capacity management.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience adapting and learning new skill sets quickly.
  • Global design experience.
