SUMMARYDesign enclosures/chassis for up to very complex electromechanical systems according to design requests outlined by the application engineers and customer specifications. This includes 3D-model layouts, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentation. Generate presentations for customer review of assigned projects. Provide technical guidance to engineers with less experience.

REQUIREMENTS Able to work on assignments that require sound design judgment and engineering knowledge and experience Requires frequent independent judgment Able to produce 3D-model layouts, assembly drawings (PowerPoint from 3D-model), and detailed manufacturing drawings using cost-effective techniques that ensure compliance with cost and performance criteria Experience in enclosure and sheet metal designs Able to design enclosures that meet requirements of emerging packaging standards Demonstrate creativity and innovation Able to work independently with little or no input from supervisor Willing to learn (e.g. new software, manufacturing processes, standards, etc.) Able to communicate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing staff and customers

RESPONSIBILITIES Produce all necessary documents to manufacture and build requested products Responsible for the correctness of the 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and administrational work to release drawings Communications with sales, engineering, manufacturing staff, and customers Provide technical guidance to engineers with less experience

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS BSME or equivalent education/experience 3D-CAD systems training certificate 8+ years of design experience Thorough knowledge of drafting standards Proficiency in 3D-CAD systems Able to design with good design practice and proper tolerances for repeatability Experience in enclosure and sheet metal designs Knowledge of MS Office (mainly PowerPoint for presentations) Excellent communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS Working on CAD system 90% of the time, manipulating keyboard and mouse in a sitting working position Handling/grasping occurs approximately 100% of the time. Both hands are utilized when operating a computer keyboard and the dominant hand is utilized when completing paperwork. Fine manipulation when utilizing writing tools or keyboarding Lifting/carrying, reaching occurs approximately 33% of the time while performing various job duties Talking/communicating with management, customers, co-workers, etc. both in person and over the phone occurs up to 80% of the time Additional physical requirements may include bending/stooping when utilizing file drawers and climbing when utilizing stairs to access the work area
