We are currently seeking a Chemist to work in our analytical lab. The chemist will work on the IC's and closely with the QA/QC Supervisor and Lab Director to maintain quality for all water samples. This is a fast pace environment with several deadlines and accuracy is an absolute must. This is a full time position, M-F, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
Oversee water(s) on IC's and processing the data promptly
Maintain maintenance (daily)
Ensure quality of the samples
Notifies QC Analyst if numbers are not within specified ranges
Works with QC Analyst and Lab Director to test new computer procedures
Requirements:
MUST HAVE a BA or BS in Chemistry (no exceptions)
Tasks:
Responsible for processing analysis on the IC's
Follow published methods without deviation unless specified by the lab director
Be aware of quality control related to each method as well as passing criteria
Ensure that samples are analyzed within hold times and result data is uploaded in a timely manner
Prepare required calibrators/reagent, maintaining logbooks accordingly
Perform required maintenance and maintain record
Maintain inventory of equipment and reagents, avoiding interruption of analysis
Maintain clean and organized work environment
Be aware of toxic and or hazardous materials in the lab
Be familiar with protocol for dealing with common spills, leaks, etc…
