Summary

Summary

Responsible for delivering product to accounts on a predetermined route; maintain strong customer rapport and quality service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

 Deliver products to scheduled accounts in good condition and within scheduled delivery time.

 Record delivery information and maintain delivery record.

 Capture customer signature, ship and create orders on hand-held.

 Maintain accuracy of delivery information recorded by GPS.

 Maintain company owned equipment; cell phones and hand-held computer.

 Maintain assigned vehicle in accordance with Company Policy and Department Work Instructions as outlined in the Buckles-Smith employee handbook; clean truck once/week.

 Comply with all safety policies as outlined in the Buckles-Smith employee handbook.

 Wear required attire provided by company.

 Assist in unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.

 Assist with warehouse clerk duties, such as fulfilling customer orders and placing stock on shelves.

 Maintain a safe, clean and organized warehouse area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

 Wear proper safety equipment as it pertains to specific job.

Receiving

 Verify received goods against P.O.s and other receiving documentation.

 Verify incoming materials and perform visual inspection, ensuring all products are not damaged or deteriorated.

 Report incoming packages to appropriate department/end-user.

 Work closely with purchasing and accounting department to verify merchandise details (supplier, type of product, quantities, price discrepancy, etc.)

 Maintain accurate daily log of materials to reflect incoming and outgoing traffic of products.

 Investigate discrepancies found during inventory control activities.

 Work with other departments on improvements to operational issues.

 Receive, open and sort products that are to be stocked and/or delivered to customers.

Pullers

 Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.

 Responsible for inventory being organized and placed in appropriate bins.

 Fill out appropriate information on all packing slips.

QC/Shipping

 QC all orders that were pulled and placed in shipping department.

 Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.

 Prepare shipping boxes/envelopes and documentation (packing slip/labels, etc.) per established company and customer procedures.

 Verify the shipping method of the sales order.

 If via company truck, place material on appropriate pallet, otherwise coordinate with shipping carriers. Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipments.

Knowledge and Skill requirements

 Knowledge of worker safety, warehouse safety, and forklift training

 Able to speak, read, and write in the English language

 Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

 Able to communicate effectively with customers

Education

HS Diploma or GED

Certificates, licenses, registrations

Valid CA Class C drivers license

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to sit for long periods; stand; talk and hear both in person and by telephone; and use hands to operate office equipment and other equipment as needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop or bend and lift and/or move up to and including 100 lbs.

The driver makes approximately 10-15 stops per day and must be able to sit up to 75% of an 8 hour shift.
