Auburn Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Therapist or Master Level to work with the inmates at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. This position will be collaborating directly with Nevada County Behavioral Health (NCBH), Nevada County Sheriffs Office (NCSO) and Wayne Brown Correctional Facility (WBCF) & their contractors.
The Mental Health Therapists key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
ï Monitoring results of the Brief Jail Mental Health Screen (BJMHS) or other screening tools
ï Providing therapy, counseling or case management to inmates who are diagnosed with a serious mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
ï Communicate and coordinate with the criminal justice system to advocate for the appropriate placement of people diagnosed with SMI
ï Discharge planning, including designing a system for discharge that connects people who were screened as high risk, diagnosed with MI/SMI with services in the community.
You will be required to attend a security briefing and an 8-hour PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) class. All staff are classified as mandated reporters. Starting wage will be $37.00 - $40.00/hr. depending on qualifications. Must have good computer and communication skills, along with working closely with other agencies.
