JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Community Outreach Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
WORK WEEK: 40 Hours per week (Mon. - Fri., 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM; occasional evening and weekend functions)
STATUS: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation and management of targeted community outreach and education activities to increase community awareness of sexual assault, domestic violence. Activities will focus on increasing the number of community members accessing services and improving the communitys response to sexual assault and domestic violence.
AGENCY DESCRIPTION: The Center for Violence-Free Relationships is dedicated to building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual assault and domestic violence through education, advocacy and services in western El Dorado County.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with staff to design, coordinate and conduct presentations and trainings on sexual assault and domestic violence to schools, community groups, faith community, businesses, and other collaborative partners and stakeholders
Create, develop and manage social media programs on all the agencys social media outlets
Preparation and distribution of agency press releases
Monitor social media groups, trends, tools and applications and recommend response
Planning and writing of the bi-monthly e-blasts
Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to develop outreach programs
Input and analyze statistical data to prepare required grant reports and report on site performance metrics gained from outreach activities
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience providing community outreach/education for a community service delivery organization
Experience with program conceptualization, design, development, implementation, and evaluation
Professional experience in social media and web management with a knowledge of social media and analytics software
Excellent writing, verbal and computer skills including an ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Possess a basic knowledge of database structure and the ability to learn to use Efforts to Outcomes. Possess a basic understanding of using a PC, office networks, and data security.
Experience working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds.
Ability to work some evening and weekends
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to obtain and maintain domestic violence and sexual assault certified training certificate and provide services for clients as necessary.
Maintain a clean Federal and State finger print report with no criminal history.
Possession of a valid California drivers license, reliable automobile, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
During working hours, employee must have the ability to:
Sit for 50% of their working hours.
Lift objects to 25 pounds from floor to shoulder level and carry for brief periods.
Bend and stoop while filing.
Twist and reach while at a desk or computer terminal.
Maintain physical and mental composure while dealing with emergencies, crisis situations and deadlines.
Hear and speak well enough to converse over the phone or in person at all times.
Legally and physically able to drive their own and/or agency vehicles during and after work hours.
