Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is seeking an experienced professional, Mission Assurance Lead (MAL), to implement and guide a Quality Assurance program and specific customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program lifecycles. The selected professional(s) will tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements for program teams and supply base. The selected team member will act as the voice of the customer to autonomously assure mission results.The MAL is responsible for guiding a team of cross product team of Mission Assurance Engineers. Responsibilities may include employee performance development, staffing, as well as supporting programs ensuring that Mission Assurance technical requirements are developed using approved development processes and procedures. The MAL must be able to work within a cross-function, matrixed organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with Supplier Quality, Hardware Quality and various Engineering disciplines. The selected team member will perform with minimal supervision: Implement Mission Assurance responsibilities as a member of a program leadership team or Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Ensure programmatic and technical requirements and risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
Ensure Mission Assurance and Quality engagement in engineering development, design and test requirements verification, including the transition of design to production
Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
The ability to maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers and government representatives.
Lead Mission Assurance teams in performing to expectation and mentoring team members in talent enhancement.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Secret Clearance within the first year of start date.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. SAP/SAR Security Clearance.
Required Skills
Minimum of 8 years leadership in Quality, Engineering, Mission Assurance or related discipline
Application and adherence to Quality Management Systems IS0 9001 and or AS9100
Working knowledge of Industry and Government Mission Assurance Requirements and Standards especially Department of Defense and NASA
The ability to lead, nurture, and mentor others in routine settings and difficult situations
Ability to collaborate with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems
Working knowledge of Raytheon Corrective Action System (RCAS) or a demonstrated close- loop preventative and corrective action system
Past or present regular member or chair of Material and Failure nonconformance review boards (MRB/FRB)
Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)/gating or program phasing (nonrecurring/recurring activities) or Major Milestone Reviews
Experience in guiding or a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation and capture
Experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and leading actions to improve performance or mitigate problems
Practical knowledge of systems engineering, reliability and system safety requirements
Experienced in Earned Value Management and Cost Account Management including EVMS Level II certification or equivalent experience
Thorough written/verbal presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PDF and PowerPoint.

Six Sigma Specialist or Industry Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer or Manager
Certified and/or formal ISO9001 and or AS9100 lead auditor training
Education
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
