DescriptionRobert Half Finance and Accounting in Santa Barbara is searching for a Senior Buyer on behalf of a great local manufacturing company.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Maintain inventory of raw materials and finished goods, including forecasting, purchasing, and tracking, to supporting appropriate buffer levels, material requirements, and financial investment targets. Work closely with Research & Development (R&D) and Product Development team(s) to meet aggressive product introduction launches. Monitor price changes and supplier activities; provide recommendations to senior management. Provide support in establishing new suppliers and maintain relationships with all suppliers on the Approved Supplier List. Actively participate in Supplier Quarterly Business Reviews and Sales and Operations Planning Meetings. Consistently meet quantifiable supply chain and/or operational performance metrics. Ensure purchase order integrity in the procurement system. Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley purchasing controls. Approve invoices and when necessary provides reconciliations between supplier and accounting. Perform cost savings analysis of inbound freight spend and provides recommendations. Communicate status of materials to production, supply chain, planning, engineering, and quality organizations. Prepare selected management reports. Implement and manage the ERP System purchasing function.
