Job Descriptions:Chapa-De is a non-profit community outpatient health center with a mission to advance the health and well-being of American Indians and low income individuals living in our communities by providing convenient access to high quality, compassionate care. We have an opportunity for a full-time Clinical Psychiatrist at our clinic in Grass Valley, CA. We would consider part-time for this role. POSITION SUMMARY:The Clinical Psychiatrist works as a member of an integrated primary care/behavioral health team to provide outpatient psychiatric services to a diverse population within a community health care setting. Places a focus on serving Medi-Cal, Medicare and Native American patients. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including prescribing and administering medications.2. Provide professional consultation to staff, participate in staff conferences, and serve on clinical committees.3. Oversees Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.4. Obtains and evaluate data. Complete necessary medical records and reports.5. Provide psychiatric coverage throughout the agency as necessary during operating hours.6. Participate in quality assurance, educational, and professional committees as assigned.7. Serve as psychiatric consultant to behavioral health and medical providers.8. Coordinate psychiatric services with other behavioral health activities.9. Utilizes Electronic Health Record for tracking and recording patient activity.10. Prescribe and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures.11. Participate in program development as assigned.12. Understand and promote the mission, vision, and values of Chapa-De both in the work place and in the community.13. This role is required to occasionally participate in Chapa-De sanctioned community health events such as health fairs.14. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including; HIPAA, Scope of Practice, Accreditation Standards, OSHA, and the Agency’s Policies & Procedures.15. Perform other program related duties as assigned.

Required Experience:QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy; Board Certified preferred. Degree from an accredited school of medicine.2. Completion of psychiatric residency.3. Demonstrated expertise in the use of psychotropic medication.4. Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and written skills5. Knowledge and competency in Mental Health treatment.6. Experience with utilizing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.7. Strong interpersonal skills to participate in service delivery with an interdisciplinary team.8. BLS certification required.9. Must be able to relate, understand and have cultural competency in working with American Indians.10. Must be able to work at both the Auburn and Grass Valley clinics.11. Current and in good standing: CDL, proof of vehicle insurance and DMV printout.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience treating children, adolescents and adults preferred.
