OverviewSierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. Much has happened since the hospital opened in 1958, including additions in 1994 of a 68,000 square foot Outpatient Center, a comprehensive Cancer Center and most recently, the opening of the Sierra Nevada Diagnostic Center in the fall of 2006. SNMH is a licensed, acute care hospital providing a full range of services including cardiovascular, surgical, emergency and diagnostic. SNMH offers access to the SNMH Health Sciences Library. The library features continuing and medical education for healthcare professionals, diabetes classes, prenatal classes, cancer support groups, and family caregiver classes. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:Directs the hospital’s nursing practice and oversees hospital operations to ensure that activities and operations are appropriately integrated with the strategic plan. Develops and deploys nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the hospital and ensures compliance with established standards. Ensures the provision of quality care and services through the cost effective management of the facilities. Participates in the development of hospital-wide patient care programs, policies, and procedures that describe how the care needs of patient populations are assessed, evaluated and met.Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

Implements effective and ongoing programs to measure, assess, and improve the quality of care/services provided to patients/customers. Implements nursing and operational improvements using appropriate data and benchmarking in conjunction with effective use of process improvement techniques.

Develops and deploys nursing practices, objectives, and initiatives for the hospital and reviews operations to ensure compliance with established standards.

Drives the delivery of quality and cost-effective patient care and oversees the performance of nursing staff. Participates in the development of hospital-wide patient care programs, policies and procedures that describe how the care needs of patient populations are assessed, evaluated and met.

Ensures that activities and/or operations are appropriately integrated with the strategic plan while also ensuring the provision of quality care and services through the cost effective management of the facility.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).

Minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience and five (5) years of nurse leadership experience.

Licensure:

Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice.
