Liaison between hardware design and production

Participate in design reviews acting as an expert in design for testability, design for manufacturability, yield improvements, supplier capabilities assessments, and quality control

Update designs when necessary in response to manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence, and system requirement changes

Define and establish design processes for improved product designs ready for production

Work with PCB designers and engineers to establish standards and processes acceptable to the SpaceX DFM requirements and help streamline the development process

Work with component librarians to incorporate features in alignment with DFM so that all designs using a component will automatically incorporate the attributes

Prepare engineering documentation necessary for the transition of the product from development to production and test

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

2+ years of professional experience in the design and/or production of electronics hardware

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Familiar with PCBA design and manufacturing IPC standards applied in a SMT manufacturing environment

ECAD experience (Altium preferred)

Demonstrated professional experience providing engineering and manufacturing support for the production of highly complex electronic products

Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing as part of a cross-functional team

Responsible for managing the daily tasks within the timeline given

Basic knowledge of materials and processes in device manufacturing.

Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Experience in fast-paced iterative design environments of Aerospace.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Willing to work evenings and weekends when schedule demands
