job descriptionMaintenance MechanicA reputable food production company in the city of Hayward, CA is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician.The Electrical Mechanical Technician will be responsible performing preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs and installation of machinery and equipment, advanced diagnostic troubleshooting as well as complete teardown, rebuild and remanufacture of machinery and related systems, also help the department technicians in all preventative and proactive maintenance functions of the equipment in production. This position is team oriented driven, with excellent communication within the departments as well as the ability to identify problems with team members before issues arise. We are seeking Electricians with Mechanical knowledge as well.Responsibilities:

Acts as a resource for PLC, AC/DC variable speed drive, and electrical controls problem solving. Programming, commissioning/start-up of control systems, gearboxes, tooling equipment, , hydraulics, pneumatics, AC and DC drives and control systems

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.

Manage electrical projects that are run or supported by the maintenance department.

Supports shift maintenance teams in problem solving and troubleshooting efforts, which may require after hour call-ins.

Ensures strict conformance to the electrical code and OSHA safety requirements for facility and production equipment.

Provide input to the preventive and predictive maintenance efforts to improve overall equipment reliability.

Provides strong support of departmental standards for safety, sanitation, and housekeeping.

Support the introduction of new technology.

Lead and training maintenance electricians as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Ability to follow-through on commitments

Participate in on-going Safety, ISO and quality training.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate mean, median, and mode

General Electrical work including but not limited to layouts; assembling, installing and testing of electrical apparatus, measuring, cutting, threading and bending conduit, and installing, modifying and repairing panel boxes, remote control equipment, motors, power and lighting circuits.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMSkills:

Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel to perform effectively in daily activities and utilizing on CMMS software for work orders.

Must demonstrate ability to solve problem and multitask

Must be willing to work nights and 12 hour shifts as and when required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations, schematics / blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications

Possess a broad general knowledge of welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, Stick) and must able to apply these techniques to various operations within the plant

Operate various power tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, calipers, and gauges in a safe and proficient manner

Ability to work proficiently on pumps , conveyors, screw augers. Gear box.

Education:High SchoolExperience:ExperiencedQualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2 years field experience or (5) years of experience in electrical and mechanical field, or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with 1-2 years field experience.Physical Requirements:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
