A leading, growing Cannabis Distribution Business is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Accounting (Controller). The Controller will report directly to Executive Management and is a key member of the Finance and Operations teams. You will have a wide range of responsibilities; these include accounting operations, month-, quarterly- and year-end close reporting, revenue recognition, billing and order management, budgeting and financial analysis, State/Federal tax remittance and special projects as needed.
Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Execute and manage monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close procedures
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, sales and inventory, general ledger and consolidation activities
- Assist the team with various projects, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and other projects regarding the operations of The Company.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Ensure the adherence to financial policies and procedures of the company;
- Ensure proper internal controls over financial reporting are in place, including controls over cash collections and disbursements
- Work with all departments within the Company and with external parties, such as vendors and customers concerning account maintenance, billing and other business functions.
- Support cross-functional/departmental initiatives and projects from planning through to implementation as required
- Passion for using data to drive better financial decision making; heavy data reporting and mining
- Strong presentation skills
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting required; Masters' degree is a plus
- CPA with 5+ Years Financial, Business and Tax experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the company.
- Ability to work well both within a team and independently
- Experience building and owning complex financial models
- High attention to detail and ability to multi task in an ever-changing industry
- Experience using Fishbowl Inventory Management Software Suit or similar software preferred
- QuickBooks experience
- Familiar and/or comfortable working in the Cannabis Industry
Compensation Package:
- 75k-90k annually DOE (plus growth incentives offered)
