Laurel Tree Charter School is looking for someone to join our team as an aide for a primary classroom. We're especially interested in someone with experience in reading instruction/tutoring. This ten-month, 26-hour-a-week position pays $18.00 an hour. Hours are 8 to 3, Monday - Thursday. This position includes paid school vacations and sick days. This is at-will employment.
Skills and duties:
Works with students one-on-one or in small groups.
Works with teaching staff to create and implement routines and manage systems.
Supports teachers by filing, grading, copying, etc.
Provides supervision at recess.
Demonstrates and models community skills in mediation, mindfulness, and restorative practices.
Effectively and kindly handles discipline within the classroom, as well as supports teachers in collaborative discipline and opportunities for student self-reflection.
