The Northcoast Cal-SOAP Consortium wants to hire you!
Cal-SOAP, based out of the Humboldt County Office of Education, stands for California Student Opportunity and Access Program. Our program provides academic support to local middle (6th - 8th) and high school students with the goal of increasing the college-going rate among these students. We are looking to hire in the following areas:
Fortuna
Ferndale
Eureka
Arcata
McKinleyville
Crescent City
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in college with 6 units or more (3 if a graduate student)
Completed at least one semester of college
Preferred GPA of 2.5
Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Strong communication skills, especially via E-Mail
Reliable transportation
Subject strengths preferred: Algebra and Geometry, or higher
This is a temporary position for the 2018-2019 school year. Continuation of this position is contingent on funding. Tutors may have this job multiple years, as long as they are enrolled in school and maintain satisfactory employment evaluations. Starting wage is $13.00 per hour, 5 - 20 hours per week. Paid training is provided, and we will work with your school schedule. Fingerprinting clearance and TB test required prior to placement.
