Job Title: Facility Maintenance Support, SPCM

Location: 1500 Alamar Way Fortuna, CA

Shift: M-Th 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (32 hours per week)

Wage: $16.50 per hour + paid vacation, sick leave and optional medical insurance

Location: This is at the Fortuna CCC center on campus, working in our shop- this position does not go out and work in the field

Primary Duties:

This is a very dynamic position requiring the ability to interact and train young adults in facility maintenance and crew support. Provide support for grade crews by repairing and staging tools and other gear as appropriate such as camp supplies, clothing, uniforms, boots, safety PPE, etc.

Assist with minor facility maintenance including repairs to plumbing, hot-water systems, drains, painting, light fixtures, electrical systems, and laundry equipment. Train corps members in cleaning of bath and shower facilities. Ensure safety of vehicle fleet with outsourcing repairs. Maintain grounds and landscaping. Must be able to respond to emergencies on an as-needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

A strong desire and experience interacting in a positive manner with young adults; ability to understand and strictly enforce State of California policies; valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a Class B license; ability to work independently; the ability to proficiently operate a computer and use email.

Personal characteristics include: punctuality, integrity, energy, honesty, cooperation, adaptability, personal initiative, good decision making, clear communication, and the ability to follow instructions. Applicants will be asked to complete pre-employment background check and physical upon appointment.
