RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Resource Development Director works with the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and CASA stakeholders to develop, achieve, and increase CASAs resource development and community engagement goals to ensure that quality childrens advocacy is achieved.

RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Research, plan, organize, manage and evaluate CASAs Communications Plan and resource development work, in coordination with the Board, the Executive Director, staff and volunteers.

2. Develop and produce marketing and public information strategies that communicate the value and mission of CASA services to the children and our community.

3. Oversee the design, content, and maintenance of the CASA website, file-maker donor database, and collateral materials including: brochures, Kid Walk newsletter, cases for support (stories of success); may include working with external contractors/consultants and volunteers.

4. With the Executive Director, plan and implement effective resource development strategies including direct mail (End of Year Letter), individual major gifts, corporate and foundation grants, special events (Kid Walk, Big Night Dinner/Auction), endowment work (Planned Giving), donor recognition and donor stewardship.

5. Represent CASA publicly at community events, meetings and other activities as required the intent of promoting volunteer recruitment, public awareness, donor acquisition, community sponsorships, and underwriting programs.

6. Monitor annual fundraising plan results on an ongoing basis by communicating with the Executive Director with the intention of projecting plan results and identifying areas of highest concern and priority.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of basic skills and fund development management

Expertise in organizational and communication abilities

Basic knowledge of file-maker database function, word processing, mail merges, Internet Research, website content, social networking and e-media, and computer operating systems.

Demonstrated Ability to:

Articulate and passionately communicate CASAs mission, programs and accomplishments to current and potential funding partners as well as to the greater community

Work independently under the direction of the Executive Director and make decisions based on established procedures

PAY RATE: The compensation rate depends on experience. This is a full-time position.
