Job Title: Creative Services Production Assistant

GENERAL INFORMATION
Redwood News (NBC3-CBS17) is seeking to hire a self-starting, creative individual with an emphasis on television video production and digital graphics for television, website delivery, social media and print. The work load is quick-paced with television industry deadlines. The content is creative and always changing.
DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Creative Services Department, this position is responsible for the coordination of tasks related to assisting the Creative Services department in designing and producing television station promotions and materials, television commercials and public service announcements for on-air broadcasting, station website, social media and print media distribution.
Other duties include assisting the station traffic and sales department in acquiring national and local spot files from distributors via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software and online delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Researching, helping coordinate and designing Redwood News promotional materials
for on-air broadcasting and website, social media and print.
Providing support to Creative Services Dept. staff with digital graphics and general video production.
Collaborating and producing advertising clients’ commercials and promotions.
Other duties assisting station staff with projects as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be detail-orientated with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Knowledge of current digital graphic design techniques is essential.
Knowledge of video recording and editing is essential.
Knowledge of audio recording and editing is essential.
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent of 3 years or more of responsible graphic design and video production experience.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite,
Especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Audition.
Computer skills required including proficiency in Word and Excel,
Experience with video cameras, field microphones and lighting kits.
Must have a California Driver’s License to operate station automobiles.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, and lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
