Join us and put your passion, determination, and skill to work building the future!We are seeking an experienced Material and Process Analyst-Composites and Elastomers to join our Huntington Beach, CA team. This occupation requires performing chemical, mechanical, and physical property testing, including specimen preparation on adhesives, sealants, primers, elastomers, insulations, fabrics, composite materials, and films, following standardized procedures and verbal and written instructions, as well as evaluating, calculating, and documenting test results.Position Responsibilities:

Prepare test specimens and conduct laboratory tests in accordance with applicable documentation.

Prepare both metallic and nonmetallic adherents for paste adhesive bonding using mechanical, solvent, and chemical methods of surface preparations.

Calculate proportions, weigh, and mix chemical ingredients used in adhesives, sealants, and elastomer formulations. Mix by manual, power driven and specialized mixing equipment including open roll laboratory mills for mixing elastomers.

Conduct paste adhesive bonding operations on test specimens of varying geometry.

Fabricate ceramic matrix composite laminates from ceramic prepreg.

Assemble and cure ceramic matrix composite laminates using vacuum pressure and/or autoclave pressure in air-circulating high-temperature ovens, electrically heated platen presses, and autoclaves.

Prepare tool surface for lay-up using chemical and film releases. In laboratory conditions, perform hand- lay-up of ceramic matrix composite prepreg materials on contoured mold surfaces while maintaining accurate control over ply orientations and ply joints on complex contoured shapes.

Operate laboratory machinery such as bandsaws, table saws, drill presses, and mills.

Transfer engineering information to part and tool surfaces using accurate layout methods. Generate temporary patterns per engineering loft information using wood, foam, plastic, plaster, and other types of construction. Evaluate, calculate, and document test results.

This position is part of the IAM 725 Collective Bargaining Unit.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): (EXTERNAL)

Minimum of 1 year of experience with machine shop equipment

Minimum of 1 year of experience with composite layup
