Staff Accountant

DescriptionAccountemps is currently partnered with a stable, sought after employer in their search for a Staff Accountant! The Staff Accountant is charged with preparing, reviewing and filing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of all financial reporting. As such, the incumbent will perform the following functions: Prepare property tax returns; Reconcile tax assessment to tax invoices and process invoices; Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns, completing various corporate tax returns; provide assistance during tax audits; regulatory filings; responding to notices from tax authorities; identify and determine cause of account variances; reconcile various general ledger accounts; research and resolve expense and revenue discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting; assist with month end close and any other ad hoc projects as required.RequirementsQualified applicants will possess the following qualifications and skills: a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a corporate accounting role; possess solid communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; display a proven track record of problem solving and thinking outside of the box; possess an advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Access), in addition to exposure to a major ERP system such as Oracle or SAP; a 4 year degree in accounting or a related area is required.
