ENTRY LEVEL LEGAL ASSISTANT POSITION – Scan Clerk – We are a well-established Rancho Cucamonga Family Law Firm. We are a fast-paced, high-volume law firm in search of a highly organized, motivated professional to join our growing team. The scan clerk in our firm should be able to identify and process documents in a highly efficient manner. Clerk must be able to be adaptable, flexible and eager to help wherever necessary to get the job done. On any given day, the clerk may be scanning, processing mail or assisting in other time-sensitive projects. Attention to detail and a ‘can do’ attitude are must-haves for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

This is a full-time legal file clerk position that supports the attorneys and legal assistants in a variety of legal and administrative functions relating to family law. Duties include assisting attorney and staff with processing incoming and outgoing mail, converting paper documents to digital files, copying, scanning, organizing and maintaining client files, drafting correspondences and emails to clients, preparing documents for filing in Court or online, and other typical clerical responsibilities.

Scan clerk will be trained in a number or areas to support the team wherever needed. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

- Prepare and scan a high volume of documents

- Pick, sort, and process all mail and documents and images received via email

- Data entry in software and applications

- Processing various legal documents for court filings

- Filing various legal documents online

- Occasional phone contact with clients, attorneys and staff

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office apps (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

- Working knowledge of Adobe PDF

- Knowledge of legal pleadings and forms (preferred)

- Excellent communication skills

- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 1 (one) year family law office experience or paralegal certificate.

Excellent communication skills.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Computer literate with ability to quickly learn new programs.

Able to follow directions completely.

Applicant MUST be a self-starter who can work independently and be a team player.

MUST work well with different personalities in a small office environment.

DURATION:

Permanent with 90-day probationary period.

Full-time employment Monday - Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
