FAMILY LAW-PARALEGAL

Rancho Cucamonga-based law firm, specializing in Family and Criminal Law, seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide a range of legal support and administrative job duties to attorneys.

Primary Job Duties

▪ Organize, track, build and maintain case files, information, database files and records.

▪ Maintain contact with opposing party, counsel and clients involved in the case

▪ Transcribe dictation

▪ Keep clients informed regarding the status of their case

▪ Prepare requests for order, ex parte, petitions, responses, trial briefs, reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, declarations, pleadings and motions.

▪ Prepare subpoenas, discovery requests, and other case-related legal documents.

▪ Audit and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy.

▪ Schedule client appointments, monitor calendars, and keep attorneys and clients informed of scheduled court dates.

▪ Assist attorneys with hearing/trial preparation (i.e. preparation of exhibits, witness lists, status reports, trial briefs and other case-related documents).

▪ Prepare subpoenas and filing pertinent court documents.

▪ Conduct legal research

▪ Perform miscellaneous job duties related to the position.

Education/Experience

▪ High school diploma required

▪ MUST have 2+ years of Family Law experience

▪ College Degree or Certificate Program in Paralegal Studies, plus 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced legal work environment

▪ Thorough knowledge of legal principle & practices

▪ Ability to proficiently research legal information

▪ Must possess critical thinking skills, planning and organizing skills

▪ Strong communication skills

▪ Attention to detail and accuracy

▪ Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

▪ Proficient computer knowledge/skills

▪ Ability to handle multiple job duties effectively and efficiently

▪ Individual must be reliable, dependable, with a positive, professional attitude & demeanor

▪ Spanish speaking a plus
