Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience with conventional/manual machines, including lathe and milling operations. This role involves precise machining, blueprint reading, and the use of various hand and power tools to produce high-quality components. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that emphasizes lean manufacturing principles. A solid understanding of basic math, calipers, and micrometers is also preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about machining and manufacturing processes to contribute to a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

Operate manual machining equipment with precision, including lathes, mills, and other hand tools

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce accurate parts

Measure workpieces using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure specifications are met

Set up and adjust machinery for optimal performance in accordance with manufacturing standards

Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise

Assist in assembly processes when required, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation as needed

Follow safety protocols diligently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Experience

Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing setting

Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience running manual mill, manual lathe, and band saw

Proficiency in blueprint reading, able to work from drawings, sketches, or verbal/written instructions

Familiarity with machining tools including calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts

Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining tasks

Experience with 6061 Alum and 303 stainless steel

Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards
