Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is a nonprofit organization that has been transforming the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1981 and the deaf and hard of hearing since 2000. TMI is committed to the full inclusion of people with developmental disabilities into all facets of community life.

The Facilitator performs duties under direct supervision of a Division Manager and indirect supervision of the Director Supported Employment/Associate Executive Director and Executive Director. The qualified candidate has working knowledge of supported employment and philosophy of community based instruction for adults with a developmental disability.

This is a 25 -40 varied hours per week position with some evenings that will start immediately after the paid employee training is completed. Also, the position has the potential to receive benefits when an employee has establish 30 hours a week after 60 consecutive days.

The Facilitator will assist life skills training including mobility, time management, and other needs of the individual. The Facilitator will also assist with enrolling in social and community activities, events, with college or post secondary educational classes, scholarships, and exploring employment opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A commitment to the agency's basic vision, mission, and values as they are to be actualized in the lives of both the children and adults we support.

A belief that all adults have the right and ability to work at real jobs for real pay.

A minimum one year of experience preferred working with individuals with disabilities preferably in a community setting or related experience, or BA/BS in human services related area

Provide or a valid CPR and First Aid certification or agree to training provided by TMI.

Provide legal identification or California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance, clear driving record and a vehicle inspection and pass all employment screenings for TB, drug and criminal background

Demonstrate a willingness to pursue training and certification deemed necessary based on the needs of the individual(s) supported.

The Facilitator uses their own vehicle to transport the individual as needed. A flexible schedule is a must including weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

Training, support and monitoring of individuals supported in vocational or recreational settings.

Maintenance of consumer files, Coach Sub Files and Coach Community Books.

Completion of TMI required paperwork, i.e. time sheets, etc.

Assist Division Manager with the completion of participant required paperwork.

Mandatory attendance at TMI required meetings, e.g., All staff, team, Team Meetings,

Completing documentation required-with computer competency

Attending meetings and appointments as needed to fulfill the job duties required

The position will be benefit eligible at 30 hours per week consistently to include medical, dental, term life and LTD insurances, auto enrollment for all employees with employer matching 401K plan, together with sick and vacation hours and holidays.

compensation: $12.00-12.50 per hour + mileage + potential for benefits + wage supplement
