Title: Environmental Field Specialist

Location: Menifee, CA

Wilson Utility Construction Companys Environmental Division has an opening for an Environmental Field Specialist on a linear utility project located in Menifee, California. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive, team-oriented outlook.

Wilsons Environmental Division specializes in environmental compliance management as it relates to the utility construction industry. Our team brings expertise to construction projects in the areas of restoration and revegetation, erosion and sediment control implementation, onsite inspection and monitoring, permitting, mitigation planning, and environmental training.

This is a field position located at a construction site with a duration of 1 year. Future projects may allow for longer duration employment.

Essential job duties will include:

Perform field monitoring and inspection for environmental compliance (hydrocarbon spills, erosion and sediment control, sensitive resource mitigation);

Conduct environmental training for construction crews;

Implement and monitor erosion control and restoration;

Interact and effectively communicate with all levels of field personnel, project management staff, customers and vendors; and

Available to work up to 60 hours per week.

Requirements:

Minimum 2-year degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, or Construction Management other related field; or minimum 3 years of related/relevant field/work experience (stormwater, restoration, geology, hydrology, etc.);

Experience conducting field work and documenting protocol and processes;

Capable of performing strenuous fieldwork and walking long distances;

Knowledge and familiarity with construction site activities;

Experience reading, understanding and implementing project environmental plans;

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various levels of staff and personality types;

Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint);

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills including; coordinating, tracking, and meeting deadlines;

Following up communication with multiple parties;

Efficiently managing multiple tasks with competing priorities in a fluctuating workload;

Strong analytical thinking skills;

Ability to work independently while still contributing to the team;

A willingness to help where needed for the benefit of the team; and

Possess and maintain a valid state drivers license.
