Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team, with a primary focus on reviewing driver videos to ensure safety compliance and promote safe driving behaviors. The ideal candidate will have a Class A CDL or similar commercial driving experience and a deep understanding of the transportation industry's safety standards. This position is critical in helping maintain a safe work environment and reducing risks associated with vehicle operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Review Driver Videos: Analyze video footage captured from in-vehicle cameras (dash cams) to assess driver performance, identify safety violations, and monitor adherence to company policies and road safety regulations.

Incident Investigation: Investigate and document driver-related incidents or near-misses by reviewing video data, gathering relevant information, and making recommendations for corrective actions.

Driver Coaching & Training: Provide feedback and coaching to drivers based on video reviews, focusing on safety improvement, defensive driving, and compliance with company and DOT standards.

Safety Reporting: Compile and report on driver performance trends, video review outcomes, and safety metrics to management and other relevant stakeholders.

Safety Audits: Conduct regular audits of driver performance based on video footage and assist in the implementation of safety policies and best practices.

Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that drivers are adhering to all Federal, State, and local regulations, including those related to hours of service, speed limits, and safe driving practices.

Collaboration with Fleet Management: Work closely with fleet managers to provide insights and support in managing the safety of the driver workforce and mitigating risks.

Maintain Safety Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of driver behavior and video analysis for ongoing safety reviews and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

Class A CDL or equivalent commercial driving experience (strongly preferred)

Previous experience in a safety-related role in the transportation or logistics industry is highly preferred

Familiarity with driver monitoring technology, dash cams, and video review systems

Strong understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and DOT compliance

Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot potential safety hazards from video footage

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively provide coaching and feedback

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software

A background in training or coaching drivers on safe driving practices is a plus

Preferred Skills:

Experience with video telematics systems (e.g., Samsara, Lytx, or similar platforms)

Previous experience as a driver or safety coordinator in a commercial trucking or fleet management environment

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based.

Compensation: $20-$25 DOE
