Sr. Applications Support Engineer Responsible for troubleshooting issues, leading technical investigations, supporting mission-critical platforms in a demanding 24/7 environment and performing root cause analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the first line teams through whom issues are directed from the end users; Application Development teams responsible for developing and maintaining the applications supported; the Infrastructure teams that supports the technology infrastructure on which the applications are installed
  • Provide second level technical support by analyzing and troubleshooting complex technical issues quickly and accurately
  • Deep dive to understand how problems occur with applications and how they can be prevented or resolved.
  • Maintain knowledge base of known defects and issues, processes and support techniques.
  • Conduct Custom SQL scripting relating to production issues
  • Coordinate with Scrum Master/Product Manager to prioritize and allocate tickets for resolution and sprint release
  • Coach and mentor junior staff and provide guidance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with writing SQL queries, UNIX/Linux, light programming skills
  • Experience supporting web-based, database driven applications
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Ecommerce, debugging code, installing monitoring systems, teaching or presenting, implementing escalation procedures
  • Familiar with various monitoring tools (datadog, graphite, etc)
  • Knowledge of software and systems engineering standard methodologies for full development lifecycle, including testing.
  • Experience in software development tools such as Jira, Azure or Rally
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) using latest DevOps tools and innovative methods is a plus
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tool in areas of APM, logs, Synthetic tests like DataDog is a plus
  • Any knowledge on cloud infrastructure hosting like AWS, Azure is a plus
