We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer that has a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, translational informatics, or a related field.

Job Details

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related Biotech field, or a MS with 3+ years of professional experience
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
  • Experience in a client facing science position
  • Programming experience in frameworks and languages such as WDL, CWL, Nextflow, Python, R, or Shell
  • Database management tools such as SQL, Spark, Hive, Hadoop
  • Hands on experience with cloud data and cloud computing
  • Understanding of modern genetics and genomics research (including transcriptomic, metabolomic, proteomic, and microbiome data), clinical diagnostics, biomarker discovery, and therapeutic development. (Preferred)
  • Understanding of statistical models, AI, Machine Learning. (Preferred)
  • GWAS and other population genomics/PheWAS toolsets such as PLINK, HAIL, ADAM (Preferred)
  • Large scale omics datasets such as ENCODE, 1000 Genomes, ExAC/gnomAD, TCGA (Preferred)
Responsibilities: Pre-sales:
  • Generate scientific interest in our products by presenting customized demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Provide scientific input into the sales process from opportunity qualification through needs identification, designing scientific pipelines, and performing feasibility studies.
  • Promote confidence in our technology and products through successful Proof of Concept projects.
  • Engage with academic, clinical, and pharmaceutical scientists to understand their data, data models, and research/business goals.
  • Identify and define solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Represent us at trade shows and scientific conferences, and participate in interactive bioinformatics experiences.
Post Sales:
  • Working closely with scientists, product management, UX, and Engineering to drive those solutions through development, testing, deployment, and client validation in an agile environment.
  • Provide initial and continued scientific training on our platform.
  • Be the scientific face of our company to our clients - understand and address their needs, work to solve their challenges, and provide voice of the client into continuous product improvement and new product development by discussing client ideas and needs for new science and technology, performing proof of principle, and participating in R&D and marketing projects.
  • Use knowledge of of technology solutions and domain knowledge to advise clients on how to best leverage our products for their success.
