Position Summary:

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting the IT needs of UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff. Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University. Facilities Management IT team in Office of Information Technology supports the technology needs of Facilities Management, Capital Planning and Environmental Health and Safety. We use the IBM Tririga Enterprise Resource Planning system as well as home grown applications to support the complex needs of our clients.

Under the supervision of the Manager, Facilities Management IT, the Facilities Management Data Warehouse Developer applies data / information management concepts, Office of Information Technology methodologies, policies, and procedures to resolve a variety of data / information management issues. Works on data / information management problems of moderate scope and complexity where analyses of situations or data require a review of a variety of factors. Develops logical and dimensional data models, ETL workflows, BI metadata model frameworks, reports, and dashboards with a special focus on the needs of UCI Facilities Management.

Required:

One (1) - three (3) years of experience in Informatica and/or Cognos.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Ability to prepare simple data models under guidance of more senior professionals. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Familiarity with important types of data models such as logical / relational models, dimensional models, and document models. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Knowledge relating to logical data design, data warehouse design, data integration or the management of web content or other unstructured data. Knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards.

Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated service orientation skills. Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand information flows in computer systems. Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of Infomatica or other ETL type tools. Knowledge of Cognos or other such Reporting tools.
