JOB SUMMARY:Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in making design decisions, adaptations and/or modifications. Lead technical roadmap in business unit for effective project execution. Mentor engineers regarding technical uptake and use in the environment. Align architecture with technical roadmap ensuring risk is mitigated through technical maturity and testing. Provides technical vision to strategic decisions by providing leadership, strategic oversight, technical vision and forward thinking. Responsible for long-term product vision and solutions in technology. Provides technical and project management support and consulting on major and crossdepartmental projects or initiatives. Is a leader in the organization in applying technical and engineering solutions to positively impact customers through product offerings. Has both breadth and depth of knowledge in practical engineering application. Able to lead technical engineers in project execution at the highest levels of the organization. ESSSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES: Completely understand technology use in the practitioner environment Current knowledge of technologies and existing use in other industries and markets Make decisions and/or provide technical data for decisions that impact compliance with design specifications. Understand and apply tradeoffs in cost, quality, and lead times with application of various technologies Actively participate as a member of product research teams to acquire detailed product and user knowledge Mentor the members of the engineering group in the areas of expertise Lead technology sourcing considerations to satisfy business unit roadmap Participate in cross business unit technology transfer to realize opportunities in sharing and scale Lead engineering technology development Lead increase in team capability Lead organizational roadmap for technology adoption, ensuring execution to the market is seamless, efficient and effective Lead technical integration in large projects and platforms with variations in product offerings leading to highly complex problem solving, demonstrating the ability to influence seamlessoutcome in project and business execution, influencing strategic implementation of technologies SECONDARY DUTIES: Participate in feedback for engineering capacity and capability growth Participate in sales and field opportunities to grow business unit customer knowledge Understand the production operations environment for design compatibility, including operations roadmaps Market impacting regulatory participation EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Science in Electrical engineering degree from an accredited college or university and ten or more years of experience. Oracle System (MPS) experience highly desired. Patent assignment preferred. COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to multitask and problem solve. Ability to lead in ambiguity, providing clarity and direction for cross functional Teammates Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Oracle preferred. PLM Agile preferred. Ability to analyze and interpret data and use that to influence change. Ability to prepare Test Protocols and Test Reports. Strong Attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to read engineering documents. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with Lean principles and concepts. Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations. Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and share technical expertise Lead by influence throughout the organization. Advanced customer and market knowledge Strong planning and organizational skills. Strong mathematical and technical abilities Ability to lead and manage projects and/or project teams. Ability to work with vague requirements and limited direct supervision. Expert in engineering and technologies and influence the project team for the best practices related to that area. Strong decision-making abilities Organizational awareness and strong business acumen Experienced in complex problem solving and critical thinking. Ability to perform research on advanced technology and use that to influence product and market direction Advanced knowledge of industry principles and concepts and application to business Knowledgeable of the fundamental theory and the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of medical devices and services. Familiarity with UL Standards Ability to analyze and interpret Finite Element Analysis Ability to drive product development from concept to production.
