Client is looking for a well-rounded Systems Administrator/DevOps Eng with at least 3 years’ experience managing systems in a mixed Linux and windows environment. Qualified candidates must have at minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Linux, and Windows operating systems (Server 20008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Creating Bash scripts to automate Linux backup and daily server functions.
- Working with of Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012 R2 or 2016) for end user administration.
- Creating and managing users in Active Directory.
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of new applications in Linux environments.
- Manage customer dependent applications inclusive to, but not limited to Nagios, Puppet, DNS, RADIUS, LDAP, Apache, Sendmail, Postfix, haproxy, samba, asterisk, and tomcat.
- Working knowledge of Oracle and MySQL servers.
- Create clearly Document procedures on how to install, configure, and support enterprise class applications and processes.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
- Installation and maintenance of Windows and other application / software on Windows Client Machine.
- Provide technical support, training and technical documentation to the Information Technology team and auxiliary departments.
- Provide superior customer support for companywide customers by troubleshooting or escalated support troubles to senior IT staff. Communicate with staff, vendors and customers in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Patching Software and OS systems
- 3+ years’ experience with Cisco IOS
- Proven experience managing a large and complex network
- Proficiency in Bash scripting language.
- 3+ years working with windows workstations (Win8, Win10).
- 5+ years’ experience with Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 or 2016.
- Ability to create and maintain users in Active Directory.
- Good working knowledge of LAN and WAN connectivity. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), greatly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AWS EC2, Redshift, Route 53 and S3 instances desired.
- Security protocols and best practices
- Must be able to complete complex projects with minimal to no supervision Ability to document installation steps for enterprise applications.
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with an internationally diverse team. While working independently on assigned projects.
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- Flexibility for on-call and off hours work.
