- Development languages: Scala, Python, SQL
- Cloud Based Platforms/Services: AWS, Amazon Aurora, Postgres, Lambda, EMR, S3, Kinesis, Cloudwatch, API Gateway, IAM, Secrets Manager, DynamoDB, Beanstalk and the entire system is composed as a microservices architecture running on AWS in multiple regions.
- DevOps Tools: Terraform, AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins
- Work collaboratively alongside a team of software engineers that design and develop code that consistently adheres to good programming practices; provide technical expertise to team members
- Actively engage in architectural sessions and provide solutions to complex problems
- Partake in code review and enforce good coding practices of unit tests, exception handling, reuse
- Design, develop, and maintain high volume web services and datastores
- Design and maintain database schemas
- Performance tuning/scaling
- Ensuring security best practices are followed
- Collaborate with product managers and technologists to solve business problems
- Own with the team the adoption by stakeholders of developed products including educating stakeholders in those products
- Own technical innovation/debt backlog
- Live by Agile (particularly Scrum) principles and collaborate with team members using Agile techniques including test driven development, code reviews, and retrospectives

- You have a degree in Computer Science (or other engineering discipline), as well as 5+ years of work in Software Engineering (or some other combo of education and work-related experience).
- You will be an expert development skills using Scala (or you have extensive experience with Java and would be willing to learn Scala)
- Developing software which runs on and integrates in the Cloud (preferably AWS technologies)
- Creating APIs using RESTful techniques, as well as containerized solutions which can be run with Docker
- Creating new infrastructure with tools like Terraform and using distributed version control software such as Git
- Computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms
