IT Business Reporting Analyst to join our direct client's team with a widely recognized and respected lifestyle brand. We are looking for innovative, driven, and passionate professionals to join their team. This will be a WFH flexible opportunity requiring 2-3 days onsite at their location in La Mirada, CA. Position Summary The Reporting Analyst will help drive critical business decisions by gathering and designing report data requirements while interacting with the business regularly. This person will be responsible for validating and modeling report data for the purpose of understanding the business needs of Retail, helping shape decisions/ solutions that enhance proficiency and efficiency. The ideal candidate for this role enjoys training users and should possess hands-on experience working with Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx tools, and have familiarity with SQL. The Reporting Analyst will work collaboratively to help build an effective strategy of data collection, analysis, and reporting that support business needs. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize and transform information into comprehensible data structures
  • Requirement gathering of relevant information from business stakeholders to support leadership in making effective, data-driven decisions
  • Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports, examining reports regularly to locate and resolve mistakes
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements
  • Support end-to-end integration testing by comparing data in reports with the source system to find corrupt data, mismatches, and root cause
  • Support User Acceptance Testing by addressing any technical queries or fixing bugs if any
  • Create/ produce a variety of easy-to-understand training documentation, basic business report graphs and dashboard templates that provide insight into key data points, convey analytic results, and align with business needs.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for the business to streamline analytics processes, reporting efficiencies and drive continuous improvement
  • Follow best practices and established policies in data analysis, maintenance, and data quality
  • Consistently create and maintain technical documentation of productive dashboards
  • Work closely with Data Integration & Engineering team to understand data sets and nuances critical for understanding how data is structured and to be used in way that it is correctly interpreted
  • Provide guidance to existing reports (updating dates, adding new fields to data sources, applying new filters when requested, keeping reports up to date), based on the needs of the business
  • Mine data by importing, cleaning, transforming, and validating data from a variety of sources (i.e., Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, or other statistical tools)
  • Assess effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques; create additional data collection methods as needed (including use of Office 365).
  • Identify opportunities for data standardization to enable more efficient data analysis across all job functions
  • Work cross functionally to develop and execute analytical reporting and analytics capabilities to drive strategy aligning with overall business goals and objectives
  • Handle day-to-day ad hoc report related requests received through ticketing system from store and corporate leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
  • Demonstrated time management & critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects at once to effectively meet deadlines
Qualifications Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in Business, Retail Management, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or other data reporting tools.
  • Experience creating/ maintaining technical documentation of productive dashboards.
  • A/B testing experience for enabling data-driven decisions, positive impacts, and driving business metrics.
  • Experience in object-oriented programming and other data analysis programs.
  • Knowledge of business operations, objective, strategy, process, and information flow.
(Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.) Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have Proficient in Microsoft 365 including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Possess hands-on experience working with Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx tools. Basic to intermediate experience working with SQL Certificates and Licenses: Tableau Desktop Certification (Associate/Professional) or PowerBI Certification or Alteryx Certification is a plus but not required.
