Description: General Position Summary: Working under supervisory guidance and with support, the Sr. Business System Specialist is responsible for supporting our teams by understanding our solutions and services across all technology functions and applying their acquired knowledge by contributing in specific projects and operational processes. They consult with users and technology specialists to define business processes and the information systems for supporting those processes. Individuals in these roles perform analysis and also serve as business liaisons to understand and refine business requirements. Detailed tasks include but are not limited to the following: Supports the gathering and documenting of business requirements Understands and helps to clarify business/technology problem Identifies and gathers non-functional requirements Actively participates in the adopted software methodology Actively participates in ensuring high quality solution and applies understanding of testing methodologies The successful individual in this role possesses basic business knowledge and leverages their acumen to fulfill the following essentials functions and responsibilities: Contributes to the identification/prioritization of solution through analysis and discussions Understands the regulatory environment Designs effective and efficient solutions Interprets security standards and applies to own work Identifies relevant security standards that apply to own work and adheres to protocols Understands security risks & implications when evaluating solutions Knowledgeable about current security controls Gathers facts and data to inform decision making Uses existing data sources Uses and responds to information provided Identifies cause and effect relationships between known variables Adheres to quality control guidelines & practices Considers internal and external customers when evaluating decisions Tracks, identifies and promptly reports issues that may affect solution quality and bring forward improvement recommendations Coordinates project activities and organizes deliverables and supports driving project to completion Specific Job Skills and Experience: 3+ years combined IT experience in one or more of the following areas: business systems analysis, business analysis, project management Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization including managing through cross-business area or business unit prioritization discussions Outstanding organizational skills Strong analytical and business problem solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation Self-motivated, self-directed, team oriented, responsible, and reliable, with a positive attitude and a proactive style. Must possess the ability to work in a highly variable, virtual and matrixed environment. Ability to problem solve including prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects and deadlines. Ability to shift priorities quickly. Ability to quickly acquire and apply knowledge. Proficient in PC based software programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio. Education: Bachelor s degree in the area of Clinical/Information Technology and/or equivalent related experience
