Job Description

Data Engineer 2 - Remote

You will be responsible for: Developing data automation packages Performing system design, data analysis and programming activities, which may require some research Conducting practical debugging and troubleshooting in complex applications and systems Identifying data quality issues and working to resolve them within the automation systems and/or upstream with the ETL system team Following best practices, processes, and using Microsoft tools to develop .NET/ database based solutions Documenting and performing thorough testing Participating in meetings, daily stand-ups and collaborate with the team Documenting work and system knowledge in Performants standard tools Researching problems / issues and contributing to resolution Demonstrating a strong work ethic, a can do attitude and be highly productive Learning new technologies and develop tools to remain abreast of current technology Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned to meet business needs

Required Skills and Knowledge: SQL database skills (SSMS, TSQL, SSIS, Stored Procedures, Functions and Views) Scripting skills (Bash, Python or similar) or .NET C# development skills highly desired Demonstrated skills using Web API, Linux, Object-Oriented Development Skills, JavaScript, C/C++, Javascript, JQuery sufficient to navigate, analyze issues and problem solve preferred Strong analytical and diagnostic skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to rapidly adjust to changing priorities

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or related) or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience working in a production support or similar environment with attention to meeting SLAs and responding to customer issues in a timely and enthusiastic fashion. Demonstrated SQL database experience, specifically SSIS, to be successful in the role. Some scripting experience in bash, python, tcl, or other related language Some experience with C#/.Net highly desired but not required Familiarity with Scrum/Agile development workflows desired but not required
