This is essential to innovation and creativity for continued success of the Laboratory's mission. Job Description We have an opening for a Data Warehouse/(Business Intelligence Developer. You will be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle (analysis, design and implementation). You will work closely with peer developers and financial business experts to create and optimize complex data loading processes for enterprise reporting across the Laboratory. This position is in the Enterprise Application Services Division (EAS), in support of LivIT, within in the Computing Directorate.This position will be filled at eitherSES.1 or SES.2 based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.In this role you will- Provide application development and maintenance for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design and implementation.
- Design and maintain complex ETL processes that load multiple data sources, such as databases and data files.
- Develop and maintain complex PL/SQL functions and procedures.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries for reports and applications.
- Estimates of tasks, duties and technologies for future releases and write technical documentation in collaboration on project plans.
- Provide end user support and problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Perform all assignments in accordance with ES&H, Security, and business practice requirements and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide technical guidance in SQL Tuning and Data Modeling.
- Lead group ETL efforts and re-architect inefficient processes to be more performant.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience with formal software engineering methods.
- Knowledge and/or experience with relational database design, techniques and development methodologies with the ability to understand the benefits and liabilities of various design patterns.
- Experience using SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle databases.
- Experience developing ETL processes within Oracle database environments, as well as from non-Oracle environments, using SQL Server, MySQL, File Transfer, or similar technologies.
- Ability to effectively manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Sufficient interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate with customers and organizations in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience working independently and/or collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficient written, and verbal communication skills necessary to prepare, present and explain technical information to others.
- Broad experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Broad experience working with Business Intelligence Tools, such as, MicroStrategy, Tableau.
- Comprehensive experience with PL/SQL and Data Architecture.
