Job Description We have an opening for an Associate Program Leader in the Cyber Security Program's Information Assurance team. This position is within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) of the Computing Directorate matrixed to the Cyber Security Program (CSP) in support of the LivIT Program.In this roleyou will- Participate and contribute to audits, in collaboration with cyber security professionals on complex problems in areas such as: cyber security; development, change management, and reauthorization of Information Systems Security Plans (ISSPs); address Federal cyber requirements.
- Lead team of security professionals to manage and provide technical and regulatory risk analysis support.
- Represent the organization often as the primary technical/lead contact, sharing relevant knowledge, opinions, and recommendations, to fulfill deliverables to meet NNSA requirements as a team, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create dynamic technical solutions to analyze requirements, designs, implement software, and perform analyses to address requirements and automate processes for controls assessment.
- Responsible for ensuring system security measures comply with applicable government and LLNL policies and enhance the posture of the Cyber Security Program in collaboration with cyber security professionals across the program and IT enterprise on complex problems.
- Develop and implement improvements in LLNL cyber security including solving complex cyber security problems with multi-disciplinary teams internal and external to LLNL.
- Create innovative solutions that require in-depth analysis of multiple factors, while leveraging industry standards and best practices.
- Mentor new employees, provide guidance to the Information Assurance team, collaborating with the Cyber Security Operations Center and assist with solving complex problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Highly advanced knowledge of computer security, cyber security policies and technical cyber security protection measures.
- Substantial experience and comprehensive knowledge of computer and network technologies including Apple, Windows, and/or Linux hardware and operating systems.
- Substantial experience and knowledge in applying NIST security controls and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Substantial experience effectively managing concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities, as well as approach difficult problems with enthusiasm and creativity to change focus when necessary.
- Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced level experience directing in-depth troubleshooting and optimization tasks, coordinating with other technical staff to research and resolve root cause of issues.
- Expert level verbal, written, and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and present and explain technical information.
- Demonstrated competency and/or current security-related certifications including but not limited to Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), etc.
- Demonstrated ability to automate and/or optimize existing processes to create operation efficiencies and improve effectiveness.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Significant years of experience in cyber security.
- Knowledge of OMB/DOE/NNSA Cyber Security policies, executive orders, operational directives, etc., knowledge of LLNL's Cyber Security policies, processes, and requirements.
