About The Role:As a Director of Project Management, Operations, you will own project management for operations. In this role, you’ll manage the project portfolio, and full life cycle of projects. You will ensure that projects have a successful outcome and will regularly read out on the status of the project portfolio including material changes and associated risks. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll connect across departments and disciplines to ensure proper representation and communication to drive projects forward.You will be in a position where you will be working on new processes, and at times, developing and implementing them from the start. Because we are building the bus while we drive it, there will be moments you will be left with little instruction and you will be expected to find answers and develop proposed roadmaps for the best way forward.

What You'll Do
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Understand interdependencies between functional teams like Breeding, Cultivation, and Manufacturing to support teams like R&D, Engineering, & Facilities
  • Manage and communicate project scope and changes
  • Drive project standardization, including phases, gates, and project management tool use
  • Maintain professionalism and live the company’s core values at all times
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or inherent to the position
  • Up to 10% of domestic travel expected

What You'll Need to Have
  • BA / BS Degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience as a senior project or program manager
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organization
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with project management tools, spreadsheets, presentations, and documents
  • Successful track record in delivering multi-million dollar projects, initiatives, and programs on-time and within budget
  • Excellent experience in project management methodologies including, Agile / SCRUM, Waterfall
  • Experience driving Continuous Improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma practices
  • Experience in budgeting, manufacturing, agriculture, and/or distribution a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google’s G suite
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Project, Asana (or similar)
  • 3+ years experience in a start-up company or turn-around around initiative
  • Track record of sharing insights to align stakeholders on next steps
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Ability to create easily comprehensible communications and presentations
  • Ability to achieve deliverables on time, consistently and accurately
  • Adaptable and proactive
  • Respectful and professional
  • Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire
