Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic is a very busy 24 hours hybrid hospital. Meaning we are a general practice, ER, and specialty practice.The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.Duties will include:

Working in an ER setting

Doing advanced procedures on critical patients

Maintaining medical records.

Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.

Filling prescriptions.

Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.

Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.

Must be able to multitask, work in a very high paced environment, and manage your own stress levels

This is not an entry level position- must have prior experience in an ER capacityShifts available:

Part- time Graveyard (8:30p-7a) RVT/Vet Assistant with clinical experience $4/hr extra shift differential 2. Full-time Graveyard (8:30p-7a) RVT/Vet Assistant with clinical experience $4/hr extra shift differential

Opportunities for professional development, i.e.:

Learn advanced technical skills such as placing and managing central lines, NG tubes and advanced nursing care of critical patients in the ER and ICU working along side our residency trained ECC DVM.

Develop advanced anesthetic monitoring techniques including multi-modal anesthetic protocols at the surgery center

Develop a variety of laboratory skills for ER patients such as canine and feline blood-typing and cross-matching.

Learn advanced imaging techniques with our on site CT and endoscopic procedures.

Learn from boarded Internists and VTS (SAIM) technical staff in our internal medication department.
