We are a high-end Residential Architecture firm in Venice Beach. We are currently looking for a Job Captain who will be an integral member of our team, working on all phases of projects from planning and conceptual design through construction. We are hiring a new Job Captain

Responsibilities and duties will include development of residential design models, the development of construction documents, and project team support during construction. We are a young energetic firm, that exposes designers to all aspects of the residential Architecture process and offer comprehensive training to ensure candidates pursuing licensure in the architecture profession gain the knowledge and skills required for the independent practice of Architecture.

Role

- Produce design through contract documents under supervision of the Project Manager

- Work collaboratively with the Project Team, ensuring the design intent is consistent and well executed

- Ensures proper steps and procedures are taken and that work is completed as planned, budgeted and scheduled

- Ensures production of construction documents are in concert with design of project

- Communicates with consultants and sub-consultants to ensure project details are carried out

- Participates with the Project Manager to track fees and labor costs for conformance to contract

- Initiates and maintains contact with other key project individuals for clarification and coordination of critical issues

- Provides technical advise and solves complex issues

- Fosters and maintains collaborative working relationship with Project Leadership Team

- Production of design documents and construction documents

- Active participation with researching, searching, designing and resolving building and materials assembly and details

- Actively participate in quality control and maintaining conformance with office standards for all documentation

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Architecture or equivalent in education or experience

- Minimum 3-5 years applicable experience

- High level of proficiency with Autodesk, AutoCad and Sketchup

- Currently, or working toward becoming, a California Registered Architect

- Advanced knowledge of architectural interior and exterior building systems

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

- Experience in traditional delivery methods

- Understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing and budgets

- High level of proficiency with Adobe Suite

- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite
